You can´t see or feel elevated levels of cholesterol, but they put you at high risk of cardiovascular events. High cholesterol induces atherosclerosis which eventually leads to heart attacks or stroke.
Four European cholesterol-organisations have joined forces and as HEART EU we have come together in the struggle to stop premature and unnecessary heart disease. HEART EU, an acronym of Hyperlipidemia, Education, Action, Research & Treatment, is a European patient network. The network helps in the prevention and risk management of inherited cardiovascular disease, particularly where inherited high cholesterol is concerned. |
